Elect Brack for 4th District Council
Elect Brack for 4th District Council
Petty crime and theft is plaguing EVERY neighborhood in the 4th District. How do we address that? Policing alone will not resolve the issue. Here is my plan:
Let's work together and soon to revitalize lawfulness in our neighborhoods through neighborhood-built solutions and high expectations of all our citizens.
Our growth is not an either-or arrangement. The details of the path forward to handle our growth is crucial in the next 4 years. Lexington is growing, whether we like it or not. HOW Lexington grows it the big question.
We need to make sure growth is done right. We must ensure that the Comprehensive Plan process is transparent and honest about our use of existing land within the Urban Service Boundary and the extent to which bringing more land into that boundary is fully merited and can be afforded. Simply bringing more acres into development will be costly to all taxpayers. You need a persuasive and knowledgeable voice representing you in that process.
Only a balanced approach that incorporates all economic sectors, old and new, will give us the future we need and deserve . . . and can afford.
Our housing crisis is not new. Right now, entire segments of hardworking and deserving Lexingtonians do not have access to wonderful neighborhoods like ours in the 4th.
There are a number of solutions being put forward in our city to address this complex crisis - but few of them adequately address the struggles of resource-needy families. The key to solving our affordable housing challenges, requires
Housing affordability and availability is a complex issue for all cities. We are up to the task of finding solutions. I pledge the hard, diligent work and leadership on the Council to move this matter along with urgency.
Democracy must have transparency. The LFUCG Council's processes should be clear and unambiguous. I am emphatically committed to involving my constituents every step of the way, and being extraordinarily accessible to everyone. I will be on the job for you.
If Lexington is to thrive in the 21st century, it must foster a robust, diverse regional economy. Lexington alone cannot be all things to everyone everywhere. Through regional cooperation The Bluegrass can grow its economic base and add the quality jobs and diversity that will sustain it for generations to come. Lexington-Fayette County is not an island of independence. Lex-Fayette must be a champion for regional cooperation and innovation. Lexington's success is tightly knitted to our surrounding communities and economies. Together we can grow quality jobs, address housing needs, compete for high-tech manufacturing, sustain our old-school quality of service and work ethic, and enurse our historic industries thrive If Lexington is to maintain its prosperity, attract young workers and leaders, and excel as a place to call home, we have hard working and forward-looking leaders who will stay on the job and get the job done.
